Includes rheumatoid arthritis which may be caused by a reaction of the body against its
own tissue; and osteoarthritis which may be the result of excessive wear and tear on
joints, and primarily affects people over 40. Arthritis affects about
3.1 million Australians, 60% of whom are women. |
